I'm half way through the book and I am frustrated.Even though it is a small book, it seems like it moves painfully slow. I like the overall point of the book a lot. But I wonder if a non-believer will hang on long enough to understand Done. I will be glad to edit this review when I finish the book.
You, the author, did a good job of explaining God's part completely but you missed part of what the new believer does. Although the believer can't do anything to earn salvation, if he is a changed man he is expected to do something in response to receiving God's gift of faith, and that is to repent or turn from his sinful lifestyle. The first thing Jesus said in Mark (1:15) was Repent and believe the gospel. After Peter's preaching in Acts 2 the convicted men asked, What shall we do? Peter said in Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized you and your household and you will be saved. In Mat 7:21 and I John 2:17 it is explained that those who do the will of God will live forever in God's kingdom. To others Jesus will say, I never knew you!. To do God's will you must set aside the will of the flesh and be led by the Spirit. For as many as are led by the Spirit, these are the sons of God. Rom 8:14. To live the new life you must turn from the old life. And every new believer must count the cost like the builder Jesus talked about. Jesus said if you confess me before men I will confess you before My Father in heaven. Mat 10:32,33 Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word. Rom 10:17 Does one conversation of hearing the word produces saving faith? My guess is possibly but usually not. God's Spirit must open their eyes to understand the word to be saved. I Cor 2:14 Great concept for the book! But you're gambling they will still come to church after finding out the rest of the story after you already told them they are saved and nothing can change that. Let God reveal that to them. Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. There are too many well meaning Christians telling people they are saved after praying a prayer. They may never go to church again and believe they are saved because they were told that and then die and go to hell. Tell them assurance is in this: Did you Repent? Not say it but do it! Did it change your life inside and out? Are you doing God's will? Read I John and decide for yourself! I invite you to read my book as I was delighted to read yours. This book is an answer to prayer. I’ve shard it with a lot of people and they also love it. Thank you so much!
It’s a very well written book. Short and to the point but also compelling enough for someone who is not a believer in Jesus. I gave some as an addition to Christmas gifts in hopes that my family will actually read it. I also gave a couple to some friends at church so they can give them to their unsaved family members. Thanks pastor Carry ♥️
Great book—I am giving this to several people for Christmas. Praying all accept the beautiful gift of redemption.
